Managing Member Mr. Kemp is a Registered Land Surveyor in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri who began his surveying career after serving four years in the U.S. Army. After a short training period with a small surveying firm, he was promoted to Party Chief where he worked directly with the clients in determining boundary locations and area calculations. Other duties included subdivision lay out, construction staking for buildings, and courthouse research. Mr. Kemp was then employed by the Montgomery County Engineer in Independence, Kansas as an Engineering Technician. During his 18-year service with the county, he also taught Basic Surveying Technique at Independence Community College for several semesters. Some of his responsibilities at Montgomery County included: • Right-of-Way acquisition for county construction projects • Worked closely with utility companies on moving utilities around construction areas • Three years as Bridge Foreman supervising a crew of five on bridge construction • New road design and drainage studies • Design and topographic surveys • Construction inspection for county and federal aid roads and bridges • Supervised a staff of two inspectors and surveyors • Sewer line maintenance • Record maintenance and storage for all county road and survey records • Writing and technical support for Office computer programs on time sheets, payroll, project cost accounting, and sewer district billing programs Mr. Kemp joined Cornerstone in 1997. His responsibilities as Party Chief have included highway and bridge construction staking, real-time kinematic GPS surveying, boundary, and topographic surveys. His other interests include church and family responsibilities as well as serving as Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts. He also has a strong interest in health and safety and serves as CPR and First Aide Instructor for the American Red Cross and as Safety Officer for Cornerstone. |
